Ureteral duplication, complete, unilateral

DA: 518

Developmental anomaly information

Definition: Ureteral duplication is the most common renal abnormality. Incomplete ureteral duplication, in which one common ureter enters the bladder, is rarely clinically significance. Alternatively, complete ureteral duplication, in which 2 ureters ipsilaterally enter the bladder, has a propensity for vesicoureteral reflux into the lower pole and obstruction of the upper pole, which can be problematic.

Developmental anomaly parent: Ureteral duplication, complete

Topology: Human body > Abdomen > Retroperitoneum > Ureteres

System: Human body > Urinary system > Ureteres

Developmental anomaly category: Malformation

Case records MDB146, MDB175, MDB281, MDB285, MDB313, MDB358, MDB408, MDB481, MDB487, MDB539
