Congenital pouch colon

DA: 363

Developmental anomaly information

Definition: Congenital pouch colon (CPC) is a rare malformation in which the distal part of a shortened colon forms a significant dilated pouch associated with a high anorectal malformation (colo-vesical fistula). The pouch differs from a normal colon structurally, histologically and functionally. (A pouch is called a diverticulum, and multiple pouches are called diverticula.)
