Developmental anomaly information

Definition: An encephalocele results from failure of the surface ectoderm to separate from the neuroectoderm. This leads to a bony defect in the skull table. Frontal encephalocele always contain brain tissue and involve bridge of nose (60%) and nasal cavity (30%)
